18.12.09 Plymouth City Council staff members braved the icy cold winter water around Plymouth Sound just before Christmas, in aid of The Horizons Sailing charity.

Dressed in BLUE Mile T-shirts, the group of swimmers consisting of men and women of all ages plus one loyal dog, entered the water and swam a section of The BLUE Mile course, out to a nearby bouy and back again.  On returning to shore, they were met by an impressed crowd of supporters who greeted the swimmers with blankets and warm drinks.
