The race day saw several hundred swimmers, stand up paddleboarders and kayakers take to the water and race on equal terms for a distance of a mile. The youngest swimmer was Charlie Hyland, aged 7 and the oldest was Henry Temby, aged 68.

4th July 2010
People of all ages and abilities were able to try kayaking, sailing, canoeing, stand up paddleboarding on the Blue Mile course. As well as hundreds taking part in the NMA-Blue Mile Walk

The National Marine Aquarium screened the End of the Line, the award-winning documentary based on the critically acclaimed book by Charles Clover.

The Blue Mile event village was located right next to the Mayflower steps and provided perfect vantage points for spectators to watch the racing and water activites. There were a host of exhibitions and activities for all the family all themed around Sport, healthy living and the environment.
